Announcements:

Only 11 more days until LipStync Anne Belser reminded members that tickets ($20 each) for Lip Stync, (Saturday, 5/22. from 7:00-8:30pm ) are selling well and that a sellout crowd of 900 tickets is targeted.  Please help promote the fun and sell tickets in advance so that we don't have to turn away your friends and family at the door, since the great talent of our performers in our community, are sure to make the show a sellout!  For more info, call Pam McConeghy at 810-227-5086.

Piet Lindhout announced that the "Raider Gear" has arrived and is ready for pickup at our weekly meetings.  He did order a few extra t-shirts, sweatshirts and hat(s), so if you didn't order with the first batch, see Piet with your money.

The Sixth Annual Business to Business Exposition will be held on June 4th from 6am to 12noon at Brighton Ford.  Scott Spitler invited all business owners to consider hosting a booth as the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce works to boost networking and knowledge about area businesses.  Register at www.BrightonFord.com for more info.

Cathy Riesterer alerted the Scholarship Committee that interviews for the 8 candidates will be rescheduled to either May 17, 18, 24 or 25 at Brighton High School, time TBD.  Any additional members that would like to participate please contact Cathy.

Two more host families are sought for next year's Rotary Youth Exchange students.  Note that to host a student, your family does not need to take the student on an exotic vacation and that the Club has budgeted a monthly allowance, approx $100, for the student. See Dora Lezovich if you know of a family that might appreciate the cultural exchange.

Upcoming Events:

05/22/10           7pm           LipStinkIII performance at the Brighton Ctr for Perf Arts

06/29/10                             President's Night at CrystalGardens

Program CLUB ASSEMBLY:

Literacy Committee:  Nancy Johnson alerted members that Cindy Snyder has been posting on her blog the many ways that our Club's literacy donations are being used in her area.  The Salvation Army is sponsoring a Summer Lunch Bunch program for those students that need meal assistance when school is not in session.  Rotary will be supplying books for the students to enjoy while they share lunch with each other.  Also, the Livingston County Literacy Coalition continues to seek volunteers willing to read and promote literacy.  See Nancy for more information.

Raiders:            Piet Lindhout shared slides from last Saturday's ramp build and mentioned how cooperative the weather was to the group's efforts by stopping the rain as the Raiders arrived!  Piet created a highlight poster for those participating Raider warriors!

Lip Stync:         The feature video from last year's Lip Stync extravaganza was shared with the Club.  Excitement is building as we anticipate the fun of this year's event to be enjoyed by performers and audience members alike.

50/50 Drawing:           $75 won by Piet Lindhout who donated the money to the Raiders Tool Fund.  Thanks Piet!!!!
