Announcements:

There is a Rotary Raiders ramp build this Saturday at 116 Brighton Lake Road at 8:00 a.m.

Our Write a Check campaign is on its way.  Our Final Four event was held last night and was a success.  We raised over $6,200 for the Club.  If you haven’t written your checks for $100 or more, please do so as soon as possible.  Thank you to Mike Bourke and Peggi Mintz for planning the event and thank you to Stan Schafter for hosting us at 440 Main.  Congratulations to Tony Gelardi for winning the chili cook off!

The Rotary theme for this year is “Engage Rotary: Change Lives” so President Mark would like to recognize the number of lives that Rotary and our Club Members affect/change the lives of others.  Don’t forget to donate your change to our Pennies for Polio jug.

Peggi Mintz thanked Steve Belanger for sponsoring her in her journey to becoming Catholic.

Congratulations to Jane McManus on her Rotary Leadership Certification!

“Ask a Rotarian” is a new feature that President Mark has begun in which a Rotarian is selected and members can ask one question about almost anything of that member.  This week’s Rotarian was Lee GoughLee was asked about a client he once represented who was charged with exposing himself in public, but Lee plead the Fifth on that question.  He was also asked about the most embarrassing thing he has ever done, which included hot peppers and not washing his hands after.  Lee loves to cook and will cook anything that anyone else likes.  Lee’s favorite peppers to use when cooking are smoked chipotle and serrano.  While in law school, Lee worked in the title industry.  The name Gough is Gaelic and, according to Lee, it means armors.

On Tuesday, April 22, the Scholarship Committee will be meeting to select the interviewees.  Interviews will be held April 30 from 11am until 4pm at BHS.

There will be an ACT/SAT practice test on May 10.  All funds raised will go to the scholarship program.

Good Deed Doers – Kim Welsh-Gemuend discussed bi-polar disorder.  She pointed out many creative celebrities that have struggled with the disorder.

The No Snow Ball will be held on May 1 at Downtown Main Martini Bar.  Tickets are $50 apiece and include entry, one snow cone, and appetizers.  Signup sheets will be going around next week for volunteers for the event.
