PROGRAM:  Mike and Jane McManus showed excellent slide and video show of their trip to Sao Paulo for Rotary International’s convention, as well as visits to other exciting South American locale.
GUESTS: Bryan Blattert, United Way intern; Michael Griffith, son of Scott.
TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE: Dennis Whitney said he has had sit-down meetings with four different U.S. presidents; in his first job at Henry Ford Hospital, he helped create HAP; he has laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The second was a lie and Ron Hagen caught it. Ron said he played basketball at George Washington and hit a game-winning shot against Georgetown; he was testifying at the Capitol as an AARP lobbyist the day Reagan was shot; there was an FBI file on him because of an anti-war demonstration. Which was the lie?
INDUCTIONS: A good day for the club as three new members were inducted. They are Heather Bullion, Steve Monet, and Joe Bottum. Welcome to all.

PROGRAM:
Mike and Jane had a great trip to Brazil to represent the club at the international convention in Sao Paulo. Mike put together a great video presentation of the trip, including fabulous shots and video with an appropriate sound track. They both said it was a terrific experience. There were many attending from Africa, possibly because of the shorter distance, and one of the highlights was the thunderous ovation that was given when it was announced that Nigeria has been polio free for a year. We are truly this close.
50-50. Bob Murray grabbed the Ace of Spades on the first try, and generously donated his 175 bucks in winnings to the Rotary Raiders.
Key dates:
Saturday, Feb. 20 – Midnight in the Tropics, put on by Sunrise Rotary Club.
Saturday, June 25 – Second Top of the Mountain Dash or Crash at Mt. Brighton.
