Anchor Bay Rotary Club Scholarship Program Once again, the Anchor Bay Rotary Club awarded scholarships to a member of the graduating class of both Anchor Bay High School and New Haven High School. The deadline for receipt of the Scholarship Applications was March of 2020, so the program has ended for this year. Our Scholarship Committee reviewed and selected the recipients. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 Virus ended the school year early and basically cancelled all end-of-the-school-year activities. The club is in the process of contacting the two members of the graduating class that are receiving the scholarship and reminding them of their responsibilities to receive the scholarship. We would like to thank all of the applicants for their interest in this program. We look forward to the interest of members of the Class of 2021.

Ninth Annual Anchor Bay Rotary Virtual Fun Run/Walk Once again, this year, the Anchor Bay Rotary will sponsor a 5K Fun Run; however, since the Covid-19 virus has forced the cancellation of the 2020 Bay Rama Fishfly Festival, we are planning a Virtual Fun Run. This family friendly 5K running event will take place anytime you choose between June 23 - 30, 2020. You can walk, run, or jog to enjoy this event. Last year, over 100 walkers and runners participated in the event and we are hoping that with the potential cool winds and moderate temperatures, and the fact that YOU can schedule your own run, we will have at least the same number of participants. So lace up your shoes, grab any T-shirt from a previous event and join your friends, neighbors, or complete strangers for this event. As stated, there is no specific date for this event, just complete the run sometime between June 23 and 30. The Virtual run this year will be intended for all individuals to have a Fun Run day. You choose your own 5K course from where ever you happen to be in the world --- whatever time of day you choose, even from your own front steps. We only recommend that you practice social distancing, and with all physical fitness activities and warm-up and stretch prior to the run. Enjoy the views of New Baltimore and all of its public parks, or wherever you happen to be, while you run. This 5K Fun Run/Walk will be loads of fun for the whole family! REMEMBER, this event is a self-participating, non-staffed event where registrants will complete a 5K on their own. Hopefully, you will take some pictures and send them to our Facebook page so we can see the fun you have had. Once you register and we receive your registration form and fee, we will send you your swag (Race Bib, Medal, and T-shirt) as soon as we can. The registration fee for this event will be $30.00 per participant, with a $15.00 registration fee for students or children under 18 years of age. (This is on the Honor System). Registration for the Virtual Fun Run is available now. Click Here to download a registration form . You can either pay your registration fee on-line or include the fee when you mail in your registration form. Send the completed registration form to us at the address on the bottom of the form. Registration will end on the last day of the event --- June 30. Make sure to fill in your complete address on the form so we know where to send you your materials. In addition, we are always looking for local sponsors to help us with this event. If you are a business person in the New Baltimore area and are able and interested in helping sponsor this event, we have created two categories --- T-Shirt Sponsor and Event Sponsor. If you are interested, please download the sponsor information and application here. Mail it to us at the address on the form. Funds raised through this event support various local and international activities of Rotary International. In addition, our primary goal is to provide a scholarship to a student of the graduating class of Anchor Bay High School and New Haven High School to defray the costs of their education after graduation. These are local companies who are supporting our club and this Virtual Fun Run.
