Our Projects
The Passport Club South is very pleased to be the first Club in Canada to support this outstanding project!
ESRAG and WASH-RAG are challenging the entire Rotary family to support Solvatten’s project in Kenya and the province of Tharaka. One Solvatten solar safe water heater, supports one family with hot and safe water for 7 years. In addition, using it cuts the family’s carbon emissions, saves habitats and the family benefits in health, equality and wealth.
The Solvatten heater’s great impact on sustainable development according to UN’s Agenda 2030 is amazing. And it also supports all of Rotary’s 7 area of focus.
One heater supports one family. What is the impact of 10,000 heaters?
- 10,000 families have access to hot and safe water for 7 years (lifetime)
- 500,000 trees are saved
- 70,000 tonnes of GHG emissions are prevented
- The 10,000 families will avoid 3,000,000 sick days
- The 10,000 families save $10,000,000

As Rotarians, we are a network of people from diverse backgrounds and vocations. We are well connected, we are the “original social network.” This Mentorship Program was developed as a valuable investment in our youth and young adults and aims for the following outcomes:
- Develop relationships with youth, young adults and early working professionals in the community
- Opportunity for mentees and mentors to acquire new skills and knowledge
- Provide an opportunity for mentees to learn about Rotary
- Mentees can receive advice to help evaluate career goals through a career action plan
- Acquire networking skills and develop one's network
Oakville Rotary Relief Fund
The Rotary Club of Oakville, Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar, Rotary Club of Oakville West and the Passport Club South have established an Oakville Rotary Relief Fund.
The FOUR Rotary clubs in Oakville formed an alliance or cluster to address the COVID-19 pandemic. Credit goes to the Assistant Governor, Bent Fink-Jensen and Community Service Director of D7080, Norma Gamble for jumping into gear as soon as it was made public that we had a challenge ahead of us.
All four Presidents joined Norma and Bent on Zoom and decided to create a fund called the Oakville Rotary Relief Fund. We would focus on Food security, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and Education. The four clubs invited the community to have their donations doubled and by the end of 2020, together with a successful District Grant, we collected almost $50,000. Donations to deserving community organizations were made on a regular basis by the Community Service Chairs, supported by the dynamic PR and Communication cluster. The media gave us terrific coverage and we were excited to be working across Rotary club lines. We even decided to form Membership clusters, bringing the FOUR membership chairs from each club, to address the challenge faced by many Rotary clubs today. We all agree that the Rotary Cluster has power!
The result of this exercise is that all FOUR Rotary clubs in Oakville generated almost $50,000 to benefit the Oakville community during COVID-19, and have therefore decided to continue the dynamic cluster format, in the spirit of fellowship and cooperation.
