Gord demonstrates his wheelchair

  • New Quantum Q 6 wheelchair. Everything on it is electronic
  • Gordon does his own grocery shopping with it. The wheelchair weighs 600 lbs with him on it. Older wheelchairs have a tendency to fall over if you go too fast. Muscular Dystrophy put money towards it as well as RCBL.
  • He returned the van that RCBL helped to modify.
  • Good Cars sold the van with no markup and donated proceeds to the club
  • For the wheelchair, there is now an app that can help to diagnose problems over the phone.

Speakers- Jonah & Matea
  • Jonah, our outgoing Rotary Youth Exchange student, gave us an update on his upcoming exchange year in Finland. He is working hard to learn some of the language before he travels there in early August.
  • Matea, our student from Adventure in Citizenship, was delayed by bus troubles and will be rescheduled to speak another day.
