Committee updates:
Anand – International Committee -  reported that international students are pushing back their school year by 1 year.  International Committee Neonatal units in Mexica are approved and units are in place. They were very appreciative and will save many lives.  Global grant started for Guatemala, estimates coming in, setting protocols for cleanliness, and sanitization.  $75,000 US project.  Should be starting in the next few months.  Will be supporting 700 children.  Hoping more older girls will now be attending school as the bathroom facilities will now be available.
 
Jody – Community Service – individuals and groups in the community who reach out for assistance, and/or Rotarian’s bringing causes to our attention.$15,000 budget – 8500 left in budget – food safety and mental health summer food bank run out food, Easter treat bag, will not be continuing with Telling Tales    Projects : sorting and delivering Food for Life, Food bank, gardening at youth center, treat bags at Wellington United Church.   240 volunteer hours so far this year.   Community Service Award breakfast Feb 25th.  North club initiating 99 Missions = fund raiser held in April in support of Salvation Army and Rotary – encourage people to go out and fresh air encouraging good deeds.  Rotary Great Lakes watershed clean up in April. We would pick a local waterway or park to schedule a clean up.
 
Diane – New Generation/Youth Committee: support youth programs that help younger leaders build leadership skills.  We plan on sponsoring youth program hopefully in the spring. Adventures in Citizenship, will reorganize to fit on-line format. Camp Enterprise is cancelled for 2021, but 2022 should still be on. Interact – only active club in Burlington – at Nelson High School, sponsored by Burlington North.  Milton will hold a Youth Summit April 10, 2021.  Burlington and Oakville Rotaract have merged to form Halton Rotaract.   Also supports Education and Literacy through the Art Gallery of Burlington, Halton Learning Foundation (elimination barriers in education), Halton Catholic Children’s Foundation, Student Awards – athletic, and Leap Forward awards June 15, 2021.
 
Dare To Be You – provides workshops and mentorship to develop mental wellness
 
Telling Tales – proposing to continue annual support for virtual festival – a sponsoring a virtual author visit to King’s Road Public School.
 
Margaret – Finance Committee – explained where funds are collected and disbursed for Rotary Trust, Rotary Club and Foundation accounts.  Because fundraising has been reduced due to Covid, we must be prudent and spend wisely. Looking for more members to join the Finance Committee.
 
Patricia – Membership Committee – most memberships are now coming in through on-line – was sponsored by current members.  Now interviewing potential members through Zoom or telephone discussions.  All members, new and old, are encouraged to get involved in a committee promptly.
Reaching out to members that have been “missing” from meetings.  Dorothy reaches out to members who are in need of Rotary support/attention due to happy, or unfortunate circumstances.
All encouraged to “mentor” a newer member. 
Fireside Meeting – informal gathering of newer members for any questions on Rotary. 
 
Reminder to ensure Police Check is up-to-date.  Please make sure your birthday is correct.  It will keep the demographic accurate.
We currently have 72 members – next week will be 75 members.
 
Karen – Marketing / Public Relations – manages web pages for both Ribfest, and the club, and Facebook and Instagram for both as well.    
Increasing communication within the club, through NEOKEO and internal calendar, and increase the functionality of ClubRunner.
Need more volunteers for NEOKEO.
 
Bent/Jay – Drive Thru Rib Fest – May long weekend, Canada Day, and labour Day – Ribbers are booked.
Would like to make $25,000 per event.
 
Dean- looking forward to next year as President of our club.  Putting a committee together for our 50th anniversary.
