In preparation for a 2017 Rotary International Convention to be held from 10th to 14th of June in Atlanta, Georgia, here is a look at the last year’s convention.
The Rotary’s centennial celebration for 1.2 million Rotary members worldwide took place in Seoul, Korea in 2016. Under the Rotarian motto, ‘Service above Self’, the RI Convention is a venue where Rotarians from all over the world share their accomplishments of service within their own communities as well as in other international locations. They encourage each other, enhancing fellowship and friendship, and share their Rotarian spirit and knowledge through special lectures, performances, and other many exciting programs specially designed for networking and communications.
There were over 160 countries represented by about 48 thousand attendees.  The Convention was opened by the Secretary General of United Nations talking about the impact Rotary has in the world.

Overall, our President Serena couldn’t say enough about what a life changing experience attending the RI Convention was.  She encouraged everyone who has not attended one to make every effort to go and gain a deeper understanding of the tremendous work our organization does all over the world.
