St. Johnsbury Rotary and NEKCA garnered $260 in donations and nearly 700 pounds of food and supplies.

Rotarian and NEKCA representative Joy Ely and Rotarian Jay Miller man the table at The White Market in St. Johnsbury on October 24th.

St. Johnsbury Rotary and NEKCA teamed up on October 24, 2020 to solicit donations from the community of food and supplies for Northeast Kingdom Community Action. Rotarians Jay Miller and Joy Ely, with support by fellow club members, worked together to inform the community of the needs for NEKCA's Parent Child Center through the Give a Little, Help A Lot Drive. In addition to collecting donations, the group also handed out free masks, children's books and activity kits, and community resource information.
The drive was well received and the group of volunteers, made up of Rotarians and NEKCA staff had a busy day collecting food, baby supplies, cleaning products, and personal care items.

Joy Ely shared, "Northeast Kingdom Community Action Parent Child Center is humbled and grateful to our community who's outpouring of support on Saturday to our neighbors who are in need, was overwhelming. Your generous support provided items that we typically do not carry at our food pantry, like spaghetti sauce, pre-made meals, hygiene supplies, wipes, and formula, to name a few.  The partnership with the St. Johnsbury Rotary Club, and the community allows us to support the needs of our neighbors and supports our ability to decrease the everyday stressors for families. Thank you again for your ongoing support."

St. Johnsbury Rotary thanks The White Market for providing space for collecting donations and for spreading the word to customers, all of the club members and NEKCA staff who supported the effort, and the community for their generosity in supporting this effort.
