Bulletin for January 4th, 2018

A small gathering again....no scribe assigned so here a few quickie notes on the meeting.

Announcements were few but important.

Andrew and the Golf Committee are actively seeking a worthy recipient of the proceeds of the golf tournament. The focus has been children and youth in the past but that may be open to discussion. Please forward any suggestions to Andre.

Mike Molloy thanked the 4 Rotary Clubs for their participation in the kettle campaign. They exceeded their target 2 days before Christmas making it a very successful campaign. Thanks to all of you who braved the cold and rang the bells!

There is a 4 club event happening at Club 45 on Saturday the 13th of January. Tickets are 15.00 each and all proceeds g directly to Rotary. Please see Catherine if you are interested.

Abraham has moved to a new host home and is finding it a bit lonely Please consider including him in any of your family activities or take him out with you.

Rod spoke on behalf of Lakeside. the raise in the minimum wage is impacting restaurants and it may be harder to solicit participation this year. Please send Rod any leads that you might have ...he is happy to go a  try their fare and schmooze the owners!!!

Our guest was Carrie Osfolk our outbound student. She is hoping to go to Japan or Italy. She speaks French so Italian would't be that hard to pick up Italian.  Japanese- now that may be a different story.!  Her Mother went to Norway as a student and is delighted that Carrie will have the same opportunity.

SAA Rod  had a bag of coal to dole out.. Unfortunately 10 out of the 12 awardees were not in attendance!

Karmel was one recipient for his (tongue in cheek) apathy portraying Santa at the breakfast.

Rene for not being in snap this month . Apparently upset by this Rene paid to be in it with an ad. Can't break the streak!

Nancy Penney was given a piece of coal for stating that she was in charge of kids crafts at the breakfast and then beetling off to Vancouver!

It was revealed that Albert was engaged over Christmas and was delighted that he didn't have to ask her father!!

A few happy $$.....

David Roscoe - happy that he was off on the 10th for a 2 week skiing trip with old buddies to Nagano.

Anthony thanked Rod for his craft table at the Christmas party.

Glenn enjoyed his lovely bottle of wine from Joe in Detroit on the 29th.

Johanna had number 9 and 10 grandchild over the holidays

CB enjoyed her 18 month grandson over the holidays and made a big difference to the activities.!

That's all for now!

CB
