Where to begin......................
A small but mighty group turned out on blustery morning and the morning started out as usual or should I say unusual. It was hit or miss as to who did what but we managed.
We had one guest -Mike Feric who is with Snapd Burlington and was here to talk to us about the Beer Festival happening January 27 through the 29th here in Burlington. Mike purchased the Beer Festival and has offered to host a Beer tasting dinner on Thursday the 26th at the Holiday Inn. The dinner is $100.00 per person and he has kindly offered to donate 40% of the profit from the dinner to Rotary. The dinner will be a 5 course meal with appropriate beer pairings and will feature local breweries. Alloro has been an enthusiastic participant at Lakeside and it would be lovely to support them in this venture.
Great news from our Poinsettia team-looks like sales are around 21K giving us a profit of roughly 10K. Well done everyone.
Mike thanked the Christmas Breakfast team as well- one of the best in a while with a great turnout and the return of The David Dean Singers. It felt like Christmas with their return. Thanks to Nancy, Rod, Wayne Dean and of course Santa and his elf for taking the time out of a very busy week to make an appearance!
Please make a point of coming out this Thursday as Eric Anderson's son is our guest speaker. He is an EMMY AWARD WINNING filmmaker and will be talking about his experiences filming all sorts of interesting sporting events (Nascar to name just one) and TV shows. Rumour has it he is bringing one of his Emmy's. How cool is that? Please plan on attending!
OK so after that the morning went to hell in a hand basket. We were treated to an appearance by Tarmac the Incredible and his trusty sidekick Lambertson.
Given our Rotary standards I am hesitant to print some of the stuff that went down. OMG hilarious....some not so but overall another wonderfully creative even by our SAA. See the pictures...As they say a picture says a thousand words.

Here are just a few examples of what happened...and these are the ones that I feel fairly comfortable re-printing......
1. Owen on a date and soccer- Name two British activities with very little scoring.
2. Bernie Hanna, Rene Papin and the Pantheon.... Name 3 majestic domes.
3. Incontinence and Andrew Gaydon...name two sources of leaky sprinklers.........
4. Flatulents and Gerry Willard.....Name a body function and an old fart..............
I quit- it just got worse but hilarious.......Can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.
Wishing you all a wonderful, happy and healthy 2017!
