Bulletin for November the 5th.

A gray but warm morning on the Bay with tons of ducks and geese enjoying their breakfast as well!
Opening ceremonies aptly handled by Peter, Anthony, and Gerry.

Just one visitor today –a friend of Bryce's- Mr Dick Scott-who will hopefully become a new member. Smart move on his part leaving his hearing aid out! He already has his seat locked down in the room at the back at the table in the dark.

Agustina was in abstentia  awaiting her transportation to NYC for the United Nations trip-lucky duck.

Several announcements this morning.
The Christmas Party is in the planning stages and more details to come next week.

Koodos to Jim Brindle for his organizing of the volunteer schedule for the Music Festival as he said thank you to all who have helped out. There are still a few spots to fill and they are on our website.

Grand Concert is November 21st at the BPAC and tickets are available at the Box Office.

Janet also spoke about the competition to name the most promising young talent being held on Thursday the 12th from 4-6. My apologies – I forget where-please contact Janet for details. All are welcome.

We have lost a few members for a variety of reasons and are sad to bid adieu to Hoda, Kyle, Andrew Bowden and Kathleen. Thank you to all of them for their past contributions. Welcome back Cameron-glad you are on the mend as is Marie. Looking forward to her return as well.

Randy spoke eloquently about the Liberty for Youth group who we helped off the ground with some seed money and on-going financial support. He encouraged us to continue that support both personally and as a club to continue the good work they do with youth at risk. Randy and Denise presented 7 scholarships at an event at Carmen's last night.

Nomination committee has been struck and will report back shortly.
Message form Andrew- GO SELL POINSETTIAS!

On to our guest speaker- some guy named David Roscoe-name rings a bell. How ironic that I got scribe duty today.

Terrific presentation this morning and great stories about his ancestry and current exploits. David is the epitome of an entrepreneur- willing to take chances- after all look who he hired. His tenacity has paid off and he is currently at the helm of a thriving company -ADFLOW Networks which now 14 years old. He and Julie also own and operate Joldon Diagnostics who specialize is rapid testing of blood for various substances, also located in Burlington. Julie manages the day to day operations of that company. He also helps his 89 year old mother with the Dairy Queen on Plains Rd. which has been in the family for decades.

The lesson that he has learned ofver the years is provide value in everything you do and you will be rewarded.  Seems to have worked.
While that is all wonderful the true centre of his universe is his family and for good reason. All three daughters are successful in their own right and both he and Julie have contributed to that.  David is an avid sailor, still enjoys skiing and playing  golf.  I can attest to the fact that he hits a mean ball and most of the time it is straight!
On a personal note I can say that he sets high standards for himself and those around him. He is very well respected as an innovator and mentor and every one of the 2970 days that I have been at ADFLOW have been a blast. Okay maybe the odd one not so much.  Love you man.
Lovely comments from some members at the end on what a great presentation that was!

Mr. Hanna fined everyone who didn't bring food for the drive and collected a few happy dollars. I'm sure he will be making up for his short stint this week next week so come with money in your pockets!

REMINDER-Remembrance Day is a regularly scheduled meeting- just being held at the Naval Legion on Thursday the 12th. Peter Skoretz needs names and money so please let him know that you will be attending.
That's all for now!
