PROGRAM—Bedell Golf Classic, Bruce Bergeron
Great progress, good weather expected. We went from 20 teams last year to 31 teams this year. Play should be done by 3:30-4:00 p.m., after which there are some refreshments and the awarding of prizes.
Golf volunteer opportunities
- Tuesday, 3:00 p.m., set up at Eastman GC in Grantham. Bring things into Draper Room, set up that room, registration and auction tables, raffle items. Carol will co-coordinate the raffle with Marilyn. Putting together paperwork packets for all carts.
- Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. It should take about 45 minutes to finish set-up before players begin to arrive. We want everything to be ready for them. Registration begins around 9:00 a.m. Players’ meeting takes place around 9:45 a.m. for 10:00 a.m. shotgun start.
- Once play has begun, additional volunteer work is needed on the raffle prizes.
- Hole-spotting assignments: Christina, Keegan, two Claremont Savings Bank personnel, Curtis, and Shelley. BRING: Bug spray, long sleeves/pants, hats, collapsible chair, water.
- Angela and Marion will handle Square credit charges.
- Bring our banner, lots of raffle tickets and cash box. Raffle tix may be bought by all, not just players. Raffle/Auction items may be brought to Bruce Bergeron’s office (227 Mechanic Street) between now and Tuesday, or even bring them to Eastman on the day of the event.

Hanover Rotary Club Invitation
We have been invited to join the Rotary Club of Hanover at their Wednesday, June 10, 2026, meeting at 12 noon to be held in the Sanborn Room at the Congregational Church in Hanover.
Bring your own bagged lunch. Enjoy your lunch from 12 noon to 12:30 p.m. Then head to the sanctuary at 12:30 to enjoy an organ recital with organist, Henry Danaher '08.
Danaher is the Director of Music at The Church of Christ at Dartmouth College, where he leads the Ives Recital series, directs the church's choral and handbell programs, and prepares the instrumental music at Sunday worship, which features frequent musical guests from both the Dartmouth and wider community. He has accompanied the Dartmouth Glee Club and numerous student recitals over the years and also maintains a small private teaching studio focusing on the pipe organ.
While a Dartmouth undergraduate, Henry majored in Mathematics, attending the Math in Moscow program in 2005 on an American Mathematical Society Scholarship; belonged to the Glee Club, Handel Society, and Chamber Singers; earned academic citations in the Psychology of Learning and in Counterpoint; served as a teaching assistant for music theory and conducting courses; music-directed student musicals such as The Last Five Years; participated in a conducting Masterclass taught by Helmuth Rilling; performed and conducted with the Dartmouth Chamber Orchestra; and was awarded the Mark L. Lebowitz 1977 Memorial Prize in the Performing Arts.

FOUNDATION
- If you haven’t yet, please make your annual voluntary donation to The Rotary Foundation no later than June 30. Nineteen club members have yet to donate this year. Marilyn suggests trying a minimum donation of $26.50, which would match the inaugural gift to the Foundation at its inception.
- Ron Michaud has most generously offered to match new donations dollar-for-dollar.

- Phil Bush: (1) Next week, he’ll be at Portland HS graduation for granddaughter. (2) Phil says he keeps his Dad jokes in a Dada base. (3) Bruce Pacht and Bill Chabot kept trying to make a meeting with him, but Phil kept changing dates and times. Bill said he would make one more change, but Phil would have to pay, so here’s the payment.
- Angela visited the REVO in Manchester, walked away with a win of over $800 in a special feature. This weekend, she will make a trip back to Bar Harbor.
- Hank: (1) bought a new Nissan Rogue (2). He and Carol leave tomorrow for a week at Lake Placid.
- Dean: (1) thanks to Ron Michaud for a book helping with Dean’s coming trip to Scotland. (2) Nenia Ballard was featured on the web site of “Humans of the Upper Valley,” where she gave a plug for the Club.
- George: Very happy Bar Harbor Bank caved in and bought a $400 sponsorship for Golf.
- Will: Dad joke and two brags: An early settler was heading west when he encountered a cowboy heading east. Settler asked, “What’s your name?” Cowboy said, “Terry.” “What kind of name is that for a cowboy?” said the settler. The cowboy pulled out a gun and killed him, making the settler the first victim to die of dysentery.” (“Dissin’ Terry,” I presume.) (1) As a result of a class action suit against Avis, Ellen received a settlement check for $11.51, which Will was rushing to the bank to deposit. (2) Will and Ellen leave next week for two weeks, traveling to England, Slovenia, and Venice.
- Tim’s eighth grandchild was born Monday, 8:15 a.m.—“Ira Crane Tepe Wright.”
- Ron Bedell’s printer wasn’t working, so he got a new one. He offers to anyone who wants it, an Epson W3520 that prints only in black and white; he will throw in 127 cartridges. (Is that “Model 127 cartridges” or “one hundred twenty-seven cartridges” of something else? Stay tuned, or call Ron.)

- Tim’s ticket #911 was pulled, and the losing Six of Clubs was drawn.
- #910 was held by Keegan, sitting suspiciously next to Tim. Keegan won this week’s free Enfield Car Wash, courtesy of Bruce Bergeron.
