President-elect Jim Damren rang the bell and called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m. Jim led our recitation of the “4-Way Test of the Things We Think Say or Do.”
Pianist Ernst led us in singing the “Rotary Welcome Song,” and “The Teddy Bears’ Picnic," which turned out to be a surprising success.
PRESIDENT-ELECT JIM’S THOUGHT OF THE DAY: The Rotary Way is to light a candle. With 1.2 million Rotarians each lighting one candle, we can light up the world.

Winner: Helena. She must compete in Round 2, two weeks from today. Hanover has no Round 2 contestant, and Phil is still awaiting word from Randolph.
Benji and Georgia, co-presidents of LHS Interact, presented a check for $1,200 toward the cost of the RISE food-packaging event.

SERVICE AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
Bruce reminded those present that voting on two concurrence motions would end at 5:00 p.m. today. There were no questions or comments from the floor.

HAPPY DOLLARS:
- Jim Damren: 47 Brands company just dropped a pond hockey collection. Aaron Damren was in the photoshoot playing hockey up at Lake Morey. Go to the link and see people playing pond hockey.
- Hank: "While watching tv, we noticed that our basement floor was wet. The furnace leak was fixed that night, and the insurance company will pay for a new carpet in the family room."
- Will had two brags:
- Ellen and Will were at St. Pete Beach to celebrate Ellen’s 70th birthday; their kids flew in from Chicago and DC for a family reunion. Their limo driver said that the weather during their 5-day stretch was the coldest in the 19 years he has lived there.
- Their son and his wife are expecting a baby daughter this spring. When their 2-year old grandson was asked what she should be named, he said “Applesauce Christy.”
- Phil Bush reported that he recently uploaded his latest song and it is going viral—so far 135 people have looked at it! https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=phil+bush+free+and+safe.
- Tim thanked all the Interactors who’ve helped with food drives. Some are fantastic and some need a little training. Best wishes to Marcus (Tim’s grandson) to recruit more Interactors.
