Thought of the day: An informational film proved recalcitrant, despite the best efforts of our tech expert Brian Davis, but President Marilyn’s message came through loud and clear: The Rotary Foundation funded 468 programs around the globe just in the last year.

Bruce Pacht, chair of the Charities Board, spoke of the proposed amendments to Charity’s bylaws. George Wenz moved to adopt the proposed amendments. Tim Guaraldi seconded. The vote was unanimous in favor of the amendments.
Bruce then explained a Charities Board recommendation to spend $6,200 for toilets in Nepal. Bill Secord moved to vote in favor of the proposal. John Yacavone seconded the proposal. We will vote on this item on December 4.

Tim Guaraldi an award for being the sixth member of our club in the Paul Harris Society. Membership in the Society is for those Rotarian who pledge to donate $1,000 per year to the Rotary foundation.
Marilyn thanked Brian Davis for eliminating feedback in our sound system.
President Marilyn has been able to connect with the Upper Valley Business Alliance with the help of new club member Claire Geno. Marilyn will be exploring possible future collaborations.
Marilyn told us of her conversations with Oakes and Son Construction and possible corporate membership.

Tim Guaraldi reported that the second food drive this fall at the Lebanon Co-op raised $595 and 554 pounds of food, which were delivered to the food bank.
Tim also reported that the Revo photo booth event will occur at 4:30 on November 25. The Rotary Club of Lebanon will be presented with the big check, and people who show up from our club should wear Rotary gear.
Tim has made the application to be the beneficiary of Revo’s charitable donations for next year.
John Yacavone reported that the holiday party will have a menu of salad, roast beef, chicken, marsala, butternut squash, green beans, desserts, and hors d’oeuvres—all for the reasonable price of $37.50. The party will run from 5 to 8. BYOB.

John also told us that there will be collection for the kitchen help on December 11.
Our District 7850 meeting will be 8:30 to 10:30 at Dartmouth Hitchcock on November 22.
Angela reported on the holiday basket helpers. Oakes and Sons has also volunteered to help. December 3 at 2:51 p.m.

- Bruce Pacht told us that tomorrow would be the 31st birthday of Haley Carr, who was a Rotary Fellow abroad as a high school student.
- Ron Michaud was thinking of the significance of our various religious buildings.
- Bill Secord encouraged people to watch the American Revolution series from Ken Burns on PBS. This documentary reminded Bill of how important our local newspaper, The Valley News, is to the civic health of the Upper Valley.
- Hank Clarke is a volunteer driver for the VA and needs to have an extensive background check done.
- Tim Guaraldi bragged about John Yacavone and his involvement with Revo and also bragged that his dad, Larry, who was a Lebanon Rotarian for years and years, recently celebrated his eightieth birthday.
- Angela thanked all the people who help revise the bylaws and noted that her boyfriend is coming back from Jamaica. Whether she will sing “My Boyfriend’s Back” by The Angels is still up in the air.
- Marilyn bragged about her friends who have invited her to Thanksgiving. Marilyn also expressed sorrow about trees being vandalized in Riverside Park.
- Ron Michaud noted that his barber’s boyfriend in Brazil appears to be safe.
- Will Koppenheffer asked the assembly what happened 162 years ago the day before today. The answer: Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address.
