We talked about eating meals at restaurants....Hank Clarke and Carol went to Copper Door in Bedford, NH. Ron and Marilyn went to the Common Man in Concord, as they waited to have their new red Sonata prepared to drive it home.
This then led to conversations about maple syrup production from Tim's 8 gallons, to John Yacavone's son in-law preparing 5,000 gallons to a mass producer making 80,000 gallons. Some of the 80,000 gallons was then shipped to California to be bottled for Trader Joes and then shipped back east for their stores...Hummmm.
Meeting Review
At 5:33 PM Marilyn Bedell rang the bell to call the meeting to order.
Bill Secord tried to lead us in his version of the 4-Way Test.
President Ron Bedell then turned the meeting over to our Golf Chair, Ed Friedman.
2021 Bedell Golf Classic
Ed Friedman spoke about our Golf Tournament to be held Thursday, May 27.

The tournament should end around 4:30 PM with a little outdoor ceremony. Drinks OK on the deck but cannot use the restaurant.
We don’t have enough signs for all of the sponsors!! We’ve ordered more. It’s a good sign that we have so many sponsors.
We will have meals early. There will be grilled burger and chicken, a couple of salads, a cookie and water.
BRING AND WEAR: Insect repellent, sun block, (rain gear)
QUESTIONS:
Marilyn – someone should drive around and relieve hole spotters for potty breaks.
Bill Secord – will take photos; Stephen Langley is moving to his home in Claremont so cannot help that day. Bill requests a small pop-up awning to cover printer from rain. If Bill has names of people on each of the teams, he will print photo labels in advance; changes can be made on site. Hank will help once registration is over.
Bruce Bergeron and Tim Guaraldi and the golf course have pop-up tents. Tim will bring another one.
Marilyn Bedell suggested thath the hole spotters have a list of who’s starting on each hole so they will know when the tournament is done.
Janet, our newest member, will plan to join us next year, as the short notice precludes her joining us next week.
We are getting 10 framed sports memorabilia posters for Ron to add to his home office collection.
Reminder, if you have raffle prizes drop them off at Bruce Bergeron's office above Jake's Coffee Shop on Mechanics Street. Keep working to get more raffle prizes and sponsors.

Rotary Invitation From Northern NH Rotary Clubs to Clean Up the Kancamagus, June 4th & Pinkham Notch, July 24th
Will be formally announced at our March 11th Meeting
To: Service Organization Partners
From: Northern New Hampshire Rotary Clubs
Date: February, 2021 Re: Rotary Community Clean-Up New Hampshire Projects
The Rotary Clubs of Bristol, Lincoln-Woodstock, North Conway, Ossipee, Plymouth, and White Mountains invite you to join with us to brighten up our area’s most scenic highways, byways, and trailheads.
The more volunteers we attract, the more impact we will have. We are looking for support from individuals, other service clubs and organizations, chambers of commerce, school groups, churches, municipalities, area businesses, and anyone who would like to join us as we Clean Up New Hampshire.
If you are unable to commit your body to a day of labor, we are happy to discuss other ways you can support our efforts such as in-kind or monetary donations. Our goal is to make these projects sustainable and far reaching for the benefit of residents and visitors alike, thanks to the support of everyone who cares about our communities! Also, working outdoors, COVID-19 safety protocols will be more easily enforced.
Our first undertaking is the Kancamagus Clean-Up Project. The date is Saturday, June 5th, from 9am to 3pm. We will have teams starting at the Kancamagus Highway height of land working their way downhill toward the towns of Lincoln and Conway, picking up trash along the highway in the rest areas, pull offs, and trailheads. We will be organized by teams and given zones within which to work. We will supply all that you need as well as a continental breakfast to get you started and lunch to keep you going. Our goal is to engage up to 150 Kancamagus Clean-Up participants!
Anticipating that our Kancamagus Clean-Up efforts will be successful, we are already planning for a Pinkham Notch Clean-Up Project on July 24, 2021, and at least two more before the snow flies! Please join our Rotary Community Clean-Up project. To participate, contact our Volunteer Coordination Committee Chair: BOB YOUNG YOUNGLAWFIRM@YAHOO.COM Thank you very much for your consideration in joining our efforts. We look forward to working with you as we Clean Up New Hampshire!

NH Food Bank - Volunteers Needed June 29, 2021
From Ashley Moulton, Volunteer Coordinator
Upcoming Mobile Food Pantries
As most of you may know, my emails started to be rejected by servers so unfortunately, I’ve not been able to reach out to most of you in quite some time.
Thankfully, we have found a way to fix this and are now able to resume the Mobile Food Pantry(MFP) update emails! The MFP schedule through August is linked below. Some locations are still TBD and we will be updating it, as usual, with any new additions.
The schedule can also be found on our volunteer site. Please go to nhfoodbank.volunteerhub.com to view 24/7 and to sign up for any MFP, or you can continue to email me to sign up! We are quite low on volunteers for Mobile Food Pantries across the board, unfortunately.
Feel free to reach out should you have any questions at all. I’m so happy to have our communication re-established and I hope all is well!
If you’d like to learn more, contact our volunteer coordinator, Ashley, at 603.669.9725 ext. 1131 or email volunteercoordinator@nhfoodbank.org

Consistency is the key to successful communication
Posted on
By Liz Courtney, assistant public image coordinator for Zone 8 (Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Islands)
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, we are working in a virtual world and it has created a huge upsurge in using technology to communicate. We know that using social media and online marketing tools can reach a huge audience in a cost-effective way and it gives Rotary clubs an opportunity to be seen by many. As a training leader, I often teach clubs how to make sure their club logo is used correctly and consistently in their communications, especially online and on social media, because consistency builds trust and recognition. Here’s what I share during my trainings.
Take the course
We know from research that people learn differently and relate better to a visual learning experience. So I recommend you start by taking the Learning Center course “Our Logo: Representing Rotary,” which takes you through the process of using the Rotary logo in your club’s communications. Easy? Yes, and the course has the advantage that you can go back and revisit it whenever you want.
Create your logo
Next, go into the Brand Center to create your club logo. Then, download your logo in all the file formats you need: a PDF for print materials, and a JPEG or PNG for presentations, Word documents, and web use. Save them to your computer to create your own logo library for the future. I also recommend you share the updated club logo with other members so you are all using the correct club logo. Share it with your partners in your community so that they’re not relying on Google to find the correct Rotary logo.
Apply your new logo to everything
Every club should have a public image chair who is up-to-date with the latest knowledge about marketing and communications and can lead a club through this process. But it’s also important for all of us to know how to use our club’s logo.
Check your club website and social media pages. Are you using the logo you just created in the Brand Center? If not, remove what you have and replace it with the logo you just created.
Ask your club public image chair and other committee chairs to go through all your club’s materials to make sure the proper club logo is being used. This could include email signatures and PowerPoint presentations. (As a club member, you should add your club’s logo to your email signature for Rotary-related communications.)
Look at your club’s event posters and advertising materials. Before printing any new materials check that the correct club logo is being used and update as needed.
If the material has already been printed, assess the cost of reprinting it. Prioritize reprinting materials that are public-facing, like a banner you use at a club event or brochures you hand out to potential members. (And while you’re at it, add a QR code that can direct the public directly to your club. We have now become more familiar with this over the last year and it’s a great way to easily direct traffic to your website or social media account.)
Use People of Action assets to build a folder of club photos to use while promoting your club activities. You can take your own photos or find images in the Brand Center. Add them to your website, social media, pull-up banners and project signage, along with your club logo.
We can attract many people to Rotary by being smart about how we market ourselves. Taking these steps will give your club a consistent look that will build trust and awareness of your club in your community.
Liz Courtney is a member of the Rotary Club of Papanui, New Zealand and currently serves as the assistant public image coordinator for Zone 8 (Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Islands). She has also served as the 2017-2020 Rotary Public Image Coordinator for Zone 7b (New Zealand & Pacific Islands).
