Minutes for Club Meeting of September 4, 2025
 
In attendance: Bill Babineau, Marilyn Bedell, Ron Bedell, Phil Bush, Dave Clarenbach, Hank Clarke, Dave Crandall, Jim Damren, Mila Dela Pena, Nick Gaffney, Steve Grant, Tim Guaraldi, Tylar Hagan, Willy Koppenheffer, Christian McDonald, Ron Michaud, Angela Nelson, Ernst Oidtmann, Bruce Pacht, Phil Rentz, Bill Secord, George Wentz, Cal Wolfe, and John Yacavone. Guests: Travis Paige and Claire Geno.
 
Call to order by President Marilyn at 12 o’clock at Service Credit Union.
Four-way test led by Christian McDonald.
No piano; therefore, no singing.
Birthdays: Will Koppenheffer, September 5; Marion Steiner, September 7.
Wedding anniversary: Tim and Anna Guaraldi on September 8—18 years.
 
President Marilyn introduced:
  • Tyler Hagan from Casella
  • Nick Gaffney from AVA Gallery and his associates Travis Paige and Claire Geno—to be inducted as new corporate members.
Nick Gaffney and Travis Paige were sworn in as new members of the Rotary club of Lebanon.

Hank Clarke reported on Brewfest. It was a blast with 1075 in attendance. Everything went smoothly. There will be a closeout meeting on September 30. So far Brewfest has netted $36,788.
 
John Yacavone is in charge of collecting road signs and wants them all picked up.
 
Tim Guaraldi has arranged food drives at the Lebanon co-op on October 25 and November 15 from 9 to 1 p.m.
 
President Marilyn announced that Alice Ely needs volunteers for flu clinics in Enfield on October 2.
 
There will be a Styrofoam collection in White River Junction at Mascoma Bank on October 4.
 
On September 20, there will be a dental clinic needing volunteers at cornerstone.
 
Brags:
 
Phil and Judith Bush threw a welcome party for new neighbors, and 25 people showed up and stayed late.
 
President Marilyn bragged about Rotary supporting Revo
 
Angela Nelson was thankful for all the help at Brewfest and also she was thankful that she wasn’t in her truck when it got struck by a car she had briefly left to purchase some ice cream. She got no ice cream that day.
 
Ernst Oidtmann has two Rotary history volumes in his possession for the club. He bragged about having the porta potties serve not only their primary function, but also as part of the Brewfest fencing. He also bragged about his granddaughter Luna, who is a Paul Harris fellow.

Our nomad existence for last week in August, September and first week in October:
  • September 18, 2025: Club Business and Charities Reports.  Lunch at Salt Hill Lebanon (order what you want from menu, or forgo eating…your choice)
  • September 25, 2025: Rob Stenger Simple Energy, Service Credit Union, Mechanics Street…DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE  11:30 PM. Help will be needed for set up and clean-up at the end of the meeting.  We need to be out of the room by 1:30 PM.  Sign-in prior to coming up to the meeting room on level two.
  • October 2, 2025: District Governor Luc Pomerleau + RYLA presentation at Service Credit Union, Mechanics Street…DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE  11:30 PM. Help will be needed for set up and clean-up at the end of the meeting.  We need to be out of the room by 1:30 PM.  Sign-in prior to coming up to the meeting room on level two.
  • October 9, 2025: If all goes as planned, back to Harvest Hill’s Dwinell Room.  Speaker Grace Gray, Rotary Global Scholar.
Upcoming service and other activities:
  • Social Gathering at Salt Hill on September 15, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
  • Dental Clinic, request from Rudy Fedrizzi for September 20th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cornerstone Community Center on Maple Ave in WRJ…Rudy is looking for over a dozen volunteers.
  • Closet Cleaning and File Sorting at Harvest Hill, TBD
  • Styrofoam (October) – Sustainable Lebanon is looking for volunteers to help.

  • September 25: Rob Stenger, one of the owners of Simple Energy at Service Credit Union.

  • October 9: Emily Gray, Global Scholar—Policies for Sustainable Food Production in Consumption. We should be back at the Dwinell Room.
  • October 16: PDG Eric Denu—Polio Awareness Day.

  • November 6: Susan Cherry—Rotary Foundation Month—Focus on Middle East Peace Center in Turkey.

  • November 2: BOD/Charities Reports +/- Classification Talk—Announce BOD and Trustee for 2026/2027.
