Learning About Listen
Today we held our meeting at Listen Community Service at 60 Hanover Street in Lebanon.  We did a variety of tasks to help organize baskets for pick up tomorrow; we did some clean-up activities; gave items for our family baskets to Angela; and had a potluck lunch.  Bruce Bergeron then asked the staff to give us some information about the holiday basket program.

The Staff at Listen let us know that they are providing Holiday baskets for approximately 230 families.  From the Listen Web Page:

"Reaching out is important all year round, and it’s especially heartwarming during the holiday season. For some the holidays are a challenging time. LISTEN Holiday Baskets provide 5 new items of clothing for children and seniors in addition to a grocery store gift card.

LISTEN’s Holiday Basket Program creates a connection to the community and spreads the joy of the season. Recipient families complete a wish list for warm clothing, and local families, businesses and other groups donate their time and resources to sponsor a household.

Holiday Baskets are provided to qualifying households with children age 0-18 or seniors 65 and older. Families are eligible based on monthly household income limits. Applications are accepted beginning October 1st and end when our budget and sponsors are maxed."
