Fish and Wildlife Stewards are trained volunteers who present prepared Fish and Game presentations to adult groups upon request.  The programs are designed to increase awareness of the federal Wildlife Restoration and Sport Fish programs and the Fish and Game projects they fund, including research, management activities and land acquisition efforts.  Currently available presentations focus on bobcat and bear research, which is funded primarily through the federal Wildlife Restoration Program.

Thanks to the support of a federal grant, volunteer Fish and Wildlife Stewards are now available to present free wildlife-related programs to adult groups statewide, such as clubs, libraries and conservation and other community organizations. New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Fish and Wildlife Stewards are volunteers trained to present public presentations aimed at increasing public awareness of the federal Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration programs and the important Fish and Game projects they fund.

These presentations offer a chance to learn about the natural history of our native wildlife, related research and management activities in New Hampshire, and the federal Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program that makes the work possible. Presentations are approximately 30-45 minutes long.

Fish and Wildlife Stewards serve as ambassadors for the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.  As stewards, they not only help spread the word about the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration programs, but also answer questions from the public on a variety of wildlife topics.

I have graduated from Keene State College and the University of New Hampshire and am retired from what is now River Valley Community College and Sturm, Ruger and Company.  I volunteer as a Fish and Wildlife Steward and as a Let's Go Fishing Instructor for the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, as a Land Steward for Upper Valley Land Trust, and as a carpenter for Habitat for Humanity of the Kearsarge/Sunapee, NH Area.  I live in Newport, NH with my wife, Laura.
