Long-Standing member Mr. Gord Lattimer and his wife Melanie, graciously hosted the event at their Brampton home.This was a partners evening and also included Honourary members. Selected Members made short presentations regarding the history of the club, from inception, to date.

Mrs. Deboraha Robinson, Past President of The Rotary Club of Brampton South (2011-12), was awarded the coveted Paul Harris award on Monday March 10, 2014. Since her term as Club President, Deboraha has also been the Club Secretary and Treasurer. Her tireless efforts to meet her obligations in all her portfolios, despite several obstacles, have earned her the Paul Harris Award.
District Governor Mike Gauthier presented Deboraha with the award. Also present to congratulate Mrs. Robinson were several Founding members, Joe Morgan, Preben Von Bulow, and Doug Whitfield.
The Rotary Club of Brampton South welcomed our newest member, on Monday march 10th, 2014. Mr. Sunil Sharma, an I.T. Specialist, was accompanied by his wife Usha Sharma, who looked on in delight as District Governor Mike Gauthier, inducted her husband into the club.
Also present were Ms. Karen Pearce, The District Governor's partner and several Founding members, Joe Morgan, Preben Von Bulow and Doug Whitfield.
Our new inductee was gracious in his thanks to the District Governor, and members of the R. C. of Brampton South for the warmth and welcome he and his wife Usha experienced.

Ms. Chris-Beth Cowie, a representative of Tin Roof Global, recently addressed our club members about this water-harvesting project in Uganda. The on-site project, provides clean water for drinking and sanitation at local schools. This also results in students being able to focus on education, rather than water collection.
The Rotary Club of Brampton south, on January 20, 2014 presented Ms. Cowie with a cheque for $1000.00, a donation towards the completion of one of the water-harvesting systems.
The rotary Club of Brampton South, in the spring of 2013, formed a working relationship with a humanitarian organization called "The Arms of Jesus Children's Mission Inc", operating out of Pickering Ontario. This organization reaches out to communities in need, both in Guatemala and Haiti, providing basic necessities. Among the services provided in Guatemala, is the repairing/rebuilding of old one-family dwellings. These dwelling have leaking roofs and dirt floors which turn to mud after a rainfall. A $2000.00 donation, repairs the dwelling, installs a concrete floor and provides basic furniture for one family.
This Summer (2013), this Rotary club provided funds for the repairs of one home, and in October, was presented with the Home-Builder's award, by Dr. Sam Martin, the Executive Director, on behalf of the "Garcia Valenzula" family.

program to explain the City’s programs to our service club and the
community in general, entertaineing questions after her

On June 16, 2012, the Rotary Club of Brampton South held its second Lobster and Chicken Fest, in support of Kerry's Place for Autism and Brampton Safe City.
As a result of the support received by sponsors and supporters of Rotary, both organizations were presented with cheques on Monday September 17, 2012.
Mr. Mathew Thompson and Ms. Jennifer Adams of Kerry's Place were presented with a cheque for $5000.00 for the continued upkeep and expansion of two respite homes in Brampton.
Mr. Larry Zacher of Brampton Safe City was also presented with a cheque for $5000.00, in support of the various initiatives undertaken to make Brampton a safe city.

The Rotary Club of Brampton South continues its partnership with the Brampton's Chapter of Kerry's Place, center For Autism.
The staff of Kerry's Place, recently embarked on a Health and Fitness program for the residents and visitors of both respite homes on Embleton Road, Brampton, and to this end, commissioned the construction of a Basketball court at this location.
The Rotary Club Of Brampton South sponsored this venture, and in January 04, 2011, presented Kerry's Place, Brampton, with a cheque fr $10,000.00
Construction is complete, and everyone anticipates a participative and energetic 2011 on the basketball court.

On November 16, 2007, The Rotary Club of Brampton South , together with the City of Brampton, again sponsored the annual Christmas Tree-Lighting Celebration.
This was also a special moment in the history of the Rotary Club Of Brampton South, as Mayor Susan Fennell also unveiled a commemorative plaque, which acknowledged the club's contribution to the history of the Christmas tree-lighting program.
On Tuesday November 17, 2009, members of the Rotary Club of Brampton South and Staff members of Kerry's Place Brampton,
celebrated a partnership they have enjoyed for the past two years.
The Rotary Club of Brampton South has been a strong supporter of the Brampton Community, forging relationships with the Childrens' wing of Brampton's Civic Hospital, Peel Childrens' Safety Village and Kerry's Place.
Kerry's Place is an organization which provides care, comfort, training and support services for Autistic children and their families.
The Rotary Club of Brampton South presented a cheque for $3500.00 to Kerry's Place, for the renovation of two rooms at the Brampton Center. This event was also a celebration of the reciprocal relationship both organizations enjoy.
Among those present at the event were Lillian Langstaff and Dothlyn Davis, President and Incoming President of The Rotary Club, and Jim Preston and Nancy Plater, directors of Kerry's Place.

For having met all the criteria set out for the award.
District Governor, Norm Binden, attended our club Meeting on November 23, 2009 and presented President Lillian Langstaff with the award. He praised her and the club members for their outstanding work during the year.
Present during the event, were members of the Turner-Fenton Secondary Interac club.
Interac President Bnita Khochar, was also awarded the Presidential Citation for her club's work in raising funds for the Haiti Relief initiative. The Interac club raised money through "Pencils for Kids", and several other activities.
