What would the holidays be without a new ornament to hang on your holiday tree or in your window?
A sixth limited edition tree ornament featuring a picture of a local landmark is now available from the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh.  The three-inch scalloped edge ornament features a rendering of Santa atop a B-47 Stratojet on the front of the ornament. The representation was produced from a photo courtesy of  the Plattsburgh Aircraft Restoration Group.
On the reverse side of the ornament is a description, which reads "SANTA COMES TO TOWN The Plattsburgh Air Force Base operated from 1954 through 1995. The annual appearance of Santa atop a vintage B-47 Stratojet on Route 9 still marks the star of the holiday season."
The porcelain ornament is delicately trimmed in 22-karat gold and fired at 1400 degree for durability. Cornelia Forrence, co-chair of the Rotary club Ornament Committee, said the latest ornament continues the club’s emphasize on the rich history and beauty of the region.
"We have received a lot of positive response from people who enjoy our efforts to highlight some of the true history of our beautiful area. Club members have also heard some wonderful stories about how much the series of ornaments means to their families, locally and far away," said Forrence.
Only 400 of the limited-edition ornaments were produced. You can purchase your own limited-edition porcelain ornament for $20 while supplies last by stopping at one of the following locations in Plattsburgh:
