Rotary Club of Plattsburgh honors three as Paul Harris Fellows

The Rotary Club of Plattsburgh honored three Rotarians with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow recognition during a ceremony on Wednesday, June 12.

Ellen Bouchard is a past president of the club and a current Paul Harris Fellow. A Rotarian for 12 years, she participates on several club committees including, RoDucky Derby, Program, Honor Guard, Food Shelf, Small Gifts, Raffle and Ornament committees and Past President’s Council. Ellen was given a 5 sapphire pin, which recognizes her for exemplifying a great deal of quality time working for our club, her honorable traits and devotion to Rotary.

Our next Paul Harris Fellow recipient jumped in with both feet from the moment he joined the Rotary club 18 years ago.    Active with the Fishing Tournament, Golf Day, Adopt-a-Highway and Food Shelf committees to name a few, Kyle Brister is also a past president. He is always ready to assist when called upon.

Finally, the last recognition is bittersweet.  Peter Gallagher was a member of the Rotary Club of Plattsburgh for seven years.   He loved Rotary and all it stands for and participated in the RoDucky Derby, Bed Race, Fishing Tournament, and Program committees. He also helped with venue selections for our club meetings.  He was Sargent at Arms at the time of his death and looked forward to moving through the chairs and to becoming our club resident.  His commitment to service above self was evident in all he did for Rotary.  He was kind, genuine and a friend to many.  While he was recognized at the ceremony, the Paul Harris Fellow medallion was presented to his wife and family at a memorial service on Saturday, June 22.
