Foundation Update
 
Gernot Runschke gave an update on all Foundation Programs we are involved in.
  • Educational, Global Scholar and Peace Scholars
    • Nathan Reynolds
    • Sarah Sanderson
    • Jennica Moore
  • Grant Share program
  • Polio Plus - goal for absolute eradication is 2018, but aggressive fundraising continues so we do not lose any ground.
  • Every Rotarian Every Year - Grants awarded throughout District 6290 for a variety of great programs (food for the hungry, new playground equipment, gymnasium, etc)
  • Making a difference - Rotarians travel abroad to oversee projects and provide technical advice (and sweat equity)

Seven members received a Foundation Update from Gernot Runschke this morning.

Chuck Vonesh: Bill Redeker announced that Chuck is home from the hospital but still has a nagging infection.  Members are encouraged to keep him in their prayers.
 

Salvation Army Bell Ringing: Club members are asked to volunteer again this year to ring bells at Walmart on Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Volunteers should contact Stacey Trowbridge.

Christmas Parade Party at 5:00 - 9:00 PM on December 5 at Consider it Done for all members, their families and friends. There will be beverages, appetizers, deserts and activities for the children.   Join your Rotary friends for a warm up!

Honduras Trip: Scheduled for March, please see Gail Ringleberg. Four Baker students will be joining. Students from Mona Shores and Whitehall High Schools will also be joining. Feb. 26 - March 6, 2016.

Mentors Needed: Changes this year - open businesses to students to learn about your career. Please see Mike Helsen if you are interested in volunteering.
 
GVSU President Tom Haas: Scheduled speaker for next Monday, November 30.
 

New Member Orientation: Tuesday December 1 at 7:30 a.m. at Consider it Done.  New members, and all members, are encouraged to attend this orientation-type meeting.  All new members are required to attend at least one of these, so if you have not been to one, you must come (please!)

Raffle Tickets - $197 total - $98.50 to the winner, $98.50 to the Charity.  44 cards left.
