Chuck Vonesh reported that the pancake breakfast on Sunday served approximately 480 meals and was one of the largest breakfasts since moving to the Washington Street location. Disposal of leftovers was not an issue this year. Chuck and Brook thanked all who worked so hard to make the event a fun and successful event. Special kudos to Ellen Vonesh who cooked every single egg for the event and for opening up her kitchen.
Tom Manderscheid reported that the net profit from the D'Vine Event was $17,917.22. This was an increase of $3,000 over 2014 due to increased ticket sales, an increase of $2,000 in auction proceeds, and $400 in wine glass sales. Special recognition was given to Kelly Larson, Chuck Vonesh, Joy Gaasch, Bill Bassow, Abby Selby, Dennis Swarthout, Jodie Kurburski, Brandon Steury, John Clickner, Eric Kaelin, and Matt Lator. John Clickner thanked Tom Manderscheid for heading up this huge event.
Dave Seibold pointed out that Grand Haven's designation as Coast Guard City USA was due in part to the efforts and leadership of Gail Ringelberg.
Pat McGinnis asked for volunteers to help set up and take down flags along Beacon Boulevard on Saturday, August 1, at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Stacey Trowbridge is asking for volunteers to walk beside or sit on the Rotary float. Volunteers must meet at the parade staging area no later than 10:00 a.m.
Bill Bassow announced the Club is planning a pre-party prior to the Tuesday night Concert in the Park which the Club is sponsoring. It will take place at Consider It Done beginning at 5:30 Tuesday August 4th. It will be a “left over event” featuring burgers, brats, chips, ice cream BEER & WINE. Food & snacks will be available on a first come basis, when it’s gone, it’s gone, so be there early….
A club assembly will be held next week, August 3. Ideas for project and fund-raiser beneficiaries will be voted on at the meeting. Proposals for projects and beneficiaries can be forwarded to Brook.
The Grand Haven Rotary club will have a table at Tuesdays in the Park (in Central Park) on August 4 and 18. Brochures and information on the Club will be shared with concert attendees.
