Grand Haven BLP - Dave Walters

Dave gave a summary of how Grand haven supplies power to our customers.  We are part of a larger purchasing cooperative that is buying and selling energy on the grid in real time.  He reviewed trends in the industry and explained that new regulations are phasing out coal as an energy source in the future.  It will be possible to meet carbon standards using natural gas, but not coal.

Alternative sources have fundamental shortcomings, and in order to make renewables feasible, a storage capacity must be invented and implemented.  Until this is solved, our energy future remains unclear and uncertain.
Morning Meeting At Consider It Done
The morning group also enjoyed a presentation by Dave Walters, General Manager for the Board of Light and Power.
