Students of the Month Frank Roberts and Angela Tran. Frank, who recently received his real estate broker license, is planning to pursue electrical engineering. Angela is a member of the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) at the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation (GHACF) and also the City of Grand Haven's Human Relations Commission. Gloria Lara, Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance (LEDA) Ms. Lara presented an overview of the activities of LEDA along with a discussion of the ethnic makeup of Ottawa County and Grand Haven. LEDA provides a series of workshops, now offered online, addressing white privilege, equity, diversity, implicit bias, racism and other similar topics. Elements of racism exist in all cultures all over the world. Workshops on Equity and Inclusion are offered to all area governments, businesses, non-profits with funding through a grant from the GHACF. Calling All Colors is a program for students that GHAPS participates in. Each year LEDA sponsors a Summit on Race and Inclusion. This year's event was virtual. Next year in person??
