Program
Barbara Carlson - ArtWalk 2016

ArtWalk 2016 begins Wednesday, September 21 and concludes Sunday, October 9, coinciding with ArtPrize in Grand Rapids. This is the 7th year of ArtWalk which operates under the auspices of the Grand Haven DDA. There are PLENTY of well known, fabulous artists in the area who exhibit in both ArtPrize and ArtWalk. What is exciting is seeing the number of new artists, not all of whom live in the area, who enter their works each year. As of September 12 there are 142 artists registered to exhibit at about 50 different locations.

ArtWalk opening will take place at 5pm on Wed, Sept 21 at the Brass River on the end of Washington at Harbor. Preferred Ford is hosting the opening reception for artists and venues on September 21. Thank you Preferred!!

A complete list of free events associated with ArtWalk is available at www.ghartwalk.com or check ArtWalk's Facebook page. Highlights include Family ArtWalk bike parade on Sept 24 followed by family art day at the riverfront Museum. Free music takes place downtown on Sept. 25, artist market takes place at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum on Oct. 1. Tuesday, Oct. 4 is the Youth Competition awards at the Library. Adult artist competition awards ceremony happens on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the Community Center. A total of $10,000 in prize money is given away.
