Gail Ringleberg was welcomed back and provided an update on Rotary International's initiatives in Honduras.

Rotary 50/50 Raffle - Tom Manderscheid announced that we were again selling tickets for the Foundation. For each $20 ticket $10 goes to the RI Foundation, $10 goes to the winners.

Paul McNergney - READ adult literacy is holding a fund raising Scrabble tournament at Seven Steps Up in Spring Lake on Thursday, March 8. $25 per person or $100 for a team of 4. Contact Paul for more information.

Dale Swihart announced that next week's meeting will be the annual meeting. Nominations for candidates for officers will be determined at this meeting.

Craft beer Hopped Up Contest - Diane Sheridan reported the DDA is teaming with the Muskegon-Ottawa Brew Club to sponsor the 2nd annual Hooped Up Brew Contest in Feb. More info to follow.

Imagination Station - Kelly Larson asked for volunteers the week of Oct. 8 to supply breakfast, lunch and dinner for construction volunteers participating in the rebuild of the Imagination Station in Mulligan's Hollow.

EA is getting started with remote villages from Comayagua valley, and experiencing the poverty conditions.

“Yesterday we took a team up 2 hours past our campus on a one-lane windy, mountain road, to begin the first day of installing filters in an extremely remote village - it was very humbling to see the remoteness, the poverty and need - and then to be able to give them the gift of clean water...a pretty powerful day and a great reminder of why this is all worth it! Thanks for fighting to be a part of something so impacting.”

These water filters are made available from; GH Rotary Club, WEHOP, Presbyterian Church, All Shores Wesleyan Church, and numerous private donors.

Amylynn Robbins, Reimagine 2.0 Project

Amylynn presented information on the Imagination Station rebuild project in Mulligan Hollow. The original structure was completed in 1990 and the new project will ensure a safe, enjoyable and accessible to all play structure to serve area kids and visitors for the next 25 years or more.

A planning and implementation group of more than 100 people has been working on this project for more than a year. Leathers and Associates, playscape architects from Ithaca, NY have been hired to design the new play area. They were also involved in the original, 1990 design. Area kids, parents, governmental leaders, educators and others participated in 3-day design event to bring forth ideas on what the next version of the Imagination Station should look like. A major focus of the design is to make it accessible to all.

Fundraising is ongoing with a goal of raising at least $500,000. Grand Haven Opoly, a take-off on Monopoly, was created to be sold as a FUNdraiser. The game is available at several area businesses and all profits from the sale go to the Reimagine 2.0 project. Once funds are secured and materials ordered, a community build will take place to remove the existing structure and construct the new. The goal is Fall 2018 to get this done.
