Dale Swihart, Annual Meeting Rotary started in 1905 by Paul Harris in Chicago with business men who rotated among their offices. In 1917 the Rotary Foundation started and in 1929 was when the Rotary Club of Grand Haven. The Exchange Club and the Community Club merged to for the GH Rotary. We have participated in so many local projects and have had 6 district governors come from here as well as 3 other clubs. 1980 we went after Polio, and in 1987-1988 we welcomed women. Today there are 21 million Rotarians in 35 countries. Our motto is "Service Above Self" and the 4 Way Test is a universal rallying call for our members. Membership - please update your profile on clubrunner! Your other responsibilities are attendance at 60% of meetings, paying your dues, and to support the foundation. Dues pay for district and international dues as well as lunch fees. It is an expectation that everyone supports the foundation with $100 per year. You can gift the foundation or have $25 added to each quarterly dues. Each years our club is expected to make a donation to the foundation equal to $100 per person. If we do that, we are eligible for grants for our projects. Community Service - an opportunity for our club to show our community what we do. We do highway cleanup, a float in the Coast Guard parade, flags on special holidays, and we volunteer with the Chamber for crowd control during the jingle bell parade. We are always are looking for something else so if you have a project, let Stacey Trowbridge now. Membership - always looking for new members and people who would become great Rotarians. Public Image - John Heritage - social media, website, traditional media New Generations - Andy Ingall - this is a big job and includes student of the month, Roteract, and exchange students. Vocational Service - Jill Davies - she implemented the 2 minute talks to get to know the vocations of other Rotarians. Foundation - Chris Riker - during the last 100 years the Foundation has spend $300 Billion on life changing efforts - Polio, clean water. He is also in charge of Paul Harris Fellows. Dale also presented the proposed future committee structure. They would like to see more committees instead of just the board members. This will hopefully bring along new leaders and more participation from the club. The new committee structure goes to combine a couple of avenues of service into these committees: - Club service/administration

- international service/foundaiton
Bill Redeker made a motion to accept the bylaws change and Gernot Runscke seconded. Motion carried. Election of next year's officers.
