Justin Roebuck - Ottawa County Clerk/Register Justin discussed what was on the ballot. There are many key state openings, but also many local seats open. There are three ways to vote: absentee, early voting, and election day voting. Justin thinks sometime in the near future we will see about 1/3 of all votes cast for each type of voting. We're not there yet, but will be soon. A key concern and emphasis of local and national clerks and groups has been election integrity and transparency. Planning starts for the next election as soon as the last one ends. Justin touched on the lifecycle of the election. There is a lot that goes into an election, from official applications to posting election results and everything in between. A post-election audit is always done to verify ballots and votes. The post-election audit consists of a 92-point checklist to insure integrity. Everyone is welcome to observe the process as transparency is an important part of the election.
