Jon shared that his first experience with Rotary was when he went to Finland as an exchange student. He ate radioactive reindeer and lost his hair.
Jennifer Jones, from Windsor Ontario, will be the Rotary President next year; first female President!
Jon talked about new satellite clubs that are cause-based. There is now a Stop Human Trafficking club and a Veteran's Service Club.
Our District Governor complimented us on a current web site and FaceBook Page. He encouraged us to have a CHAMPION to work to keep us relevant and at the forefront of our community.
The Rotary Foundation has raised and granted over $4 million for PPE, ventilators and other Covid Aid relief worldwide. Closer to home, our District has applied for and received funding to assist with food banks in west Michigan during the Covid crisis.
Our 7th area of focus that is now eligible for Global Grants is the Environment!
