Program: Aldea Coffee, Brittany Goode (With Jeremy Miller)
Aldea was founded in 2009 as a non-profit in Honduras. Opening a local coffee shop inside the Armory in 2015, their growth allowed them to move to their new location on Washington and expand in to Muskegon in 2021.
Aldea is West Michigan's first solar powered roastery and is still currently the only West Michigan coffee roaster that is a Certified B Corp. They also offer a clay cup to reuse that has saved over 12,000 paper cups in 2025, with a goal of 15,000 in 2026. They are continuing to champion a push for more composting and recycling options for Grand Haven.
This Saturday, Aldea is leading a Earth Day "Beach" Cleanup on Harbor Island to do a cleanup. If you are interested, feel free to meet them at the Soccer Fields around 10am.
