Morning Meeting: Table topic - Why Are We All So Angry? 1. It's not a simple answer; seems to be more racial tension than in the last 50 years. Could be a result of leadership. 2. Two reasons: First, we've switched from a "we" society to a "me" society. When our society was the former, there was a collective voice. Second, social media is one of the most unproductive platforms. 3. More of the negative is promoted and that's what gets viewed, especially with 24 hour news. 9/11 was the last time we were truly united as a country. 4. As a people, we've become tolerant of intolerance; we've lost basic patience and acceptance. 5. As a society, we seem to have a lack of respect for everything 6. No longer are differences of opinion allowed; we lack mutual respect for one another 7. In this day in age, we should all be more enlightened. None of us are going anywhere, so we need to learn to get along. 8. Social media for children is more addictive than meth or heroine; this is confirmed by legitimate research. People also easily succumb to group think about concepts that they wouldn't accept on their own. |
