Troy Hauser-Brydon: Duty Roster solicitation in place of Mary Ann. Looking for greeter for Jan 24.
 
Winterfest is a go - all of the outdoor activities will be going.  A Jeep will be there to sell tickets.
 
Brook Bisonet announced that we have covered all of the kids at Mary White with winter coats, snowpants and boots! We outfitted 46 kids, but remain about $1,400 in the hole.
 
Brook Bisonet: 750 Raffle Tickets printed - trying to sell 750 of them this year. $100 for paper tickets, $103 on line. Cash, check, credit card, Venmo, or bill your account. The Jeep is on order and will be displayed during the brand new Jeep fest. Watch for an email from Brook with a link to post to all of your social media and to buy some.
Proceeds go to Kenzie's Be Cafe!
 
Students of the Month
Chris Mountford presented the award for January. This month's sponsors are Karen Benson and Harbor Transit.
 
Kate Kendall is involved in swimming, ski team, rowing team, Calling all Colors, NHS, Lakeshore Youth Leadership. WIll attend Northern Michigan University to study Speech Language and Hearing Sciences.   Her featured Educator is Tami Basil.
 
Aiden Pike thanked his featured educator Mrs. Barton, who has had a big influence on him. He's active in wrestling, lacrosse, Team GH and NHS. Wants to qualify for States this year. He's practiced all summer long and is ready to compete! Montana State University to study the outdoor industry.

Scott Grimes was sworn in as Rotary's newest member!  His sponsor is Chris Streng!
Scott introduced his bride of 30 years, Kelly Grimes, who recently retired from Griffin School. They are now empty-nesters and are loving it!
MHSAA Volunteer and runs, walks, golfs and plays pickle ball.

M-TECH is a non-profit entity; fees are charged for cost recovery only. Students do get funded through various scholarships and programs.
Robotics - $1,000
CBC - $800
Dental Assistant $3,300
These fees are far less than other training programs in West Michigan.
 
This is the adult education segment - the Careerline Tech Center is across the street and generally serves our student population. Students often bridge from training at the Careerline Tech Center into the MTECH to complete their career training.
 
Areas of emphasis include:
  • Office and Technology
  • Health Sciences
  • Manufacturing Skills (80% of the training they do)
  • Commercial & Residential Trades (including HVAC!)

Literacy to Work - helping skilled immigrants achieve US equivalence
Career Coaching - career readiness
