Program
Michelle Bailey-Mesler presented an update on the Tri-Cities Family YMCA and the numerous programs and activities there.
 
About 1/3 of kids attending summer Y camps receive scholarships to help offset costs for parents. Through the national 7th Grade Initiative all area 7th graders are eligible for a free, one-year membership. Fruits, vegetables and good nutrition is taught for all ages.
 
There are about 3,700 members and the number of members is increasing.
 
Y sponsored runs - May 27 is the Kick-off to Summer run and July 29 is the Coast Guard run.
 
The City will be expanding parking in the area of the Y by spring 2018.

Announcements - Get Involved!
The May 1 meeting will be held at Odd Side Ales. May 15 is the only Monday in May that the club will meet at the GH Community Center.
 
Highway Cleanup: Thank you to everyone who participated in the cleanup!!
 
World Book Day - Brilliance Corp. gave away about 7,500 books and audio books in Central Park to honor World Book Day.
 
May 4-6 Rotary district annual conference at Crystal Mountain. Kathy Hegedus is looking for 4 volunteers to help at the conference.  Great speakers are scheduled; sign up today on line.  We are the home club for this district conference. If you cannot make the Thursday dinner, and cannot do the entire conference, you can attend Friday for $75.
 
D'Vine Event - Crystal Bultge is seeking sponsors and volunteers for this year's event.
 
Paul Harris Awards - If you are considering this award remember that the District will match $500. And if you have not achieved the award yet, $250 is available from the club.
