Dale shared a short message regarding his first month as president.  He plans to attend the morning meeting at least once per month.  There will be a club assembly on the 22^nd and 23^rd.

 

Odd Side opened in 2010, beginning production of their craft beers with a 20 gallon brewing system.  They now utilize a 500 gallon system, brew 24 hours a day, and produce 15,000 gallons.  Their name is derived from the fact that they are located on the odd side of the street, offer unusual types of beer, and have an odd number of tap handles. They distribute in Michigan and Illinois and have developed a huge following on the east side of state.  However, Chris commented that getting into the Chicago market has been difficult.  Recently, they shifted to cans on their production line because it saves the company $3.50 per package. 

Prior to opening the company, Chris went to MSU and graduated in 2006 with Master’s in tax accounting.  He said he experienced burnout quickly and decided to start the business with only $80K.  This year, Odd Side is investing their profits into quality control; they purchased equipment that separates the solids from the beer ensuring a more consistent product.  Presently, their objective is steady growth and to remain fiscally responsible.
