This past March, the Southfield Area Rotary Club was privileged to help My Brother's Keeper (MBK) at its Youth Symposium.  The Symposium assists local boys in the 8th-12th grades to develop the skills and motivation to reach beyond basic survival and truly thrive in today's current social climate.
MBK's Youth Symposium included a gifted panel and was well attended.
MBK is a Michigan-supported initiative whose mission is to support innovative approaches to continue to make progress for all youth, including boys and young men of color. Mentoring is a central component of MBK's initiative, which will also aims to ensure that our youth:
  • graduate from high school
  • complete post-secondary education or training
  • out of school are employed
  • remain safe from violent crime
The Southfield Area Rotary Club extends its thanks to the Symposium's leadership for allowing the Southfield Area Rotary Club to participate and assist!
