Recently, our Club heard from the Sunrise Rotary Club about the $200,000 Vista Terrace Park playground project. They have been working with the City on this for the past six months and have recently purchased playground equipment. It will have a playground that is handicap accessible and a picnic shelter. This is a much needed project near Eastgate Wilbur exit, but, North of the highway. Our club is donating $15,000 out of our major project funds (we set aside $5,000 each year). We would like to make it $20,000. So, you are invited to donate with the Club matching dollar per dollar up to $2,500. If you donate $100, the Club will donate $100, for a total of $200. Send your check to Rotary Club of Walla Walla, PO Box 418, Walla Walla 99362.
Also, the Sunrise Rotary Club has a buy a brick fundraiser.
Purchase a brick or two with your special message, which will be used in the walking path: https://www.bricksrus.com/donorsite/VistaTerracePark
We are excited for this park redevelopment which will enable the community to better enjoy outdoor activities with their children.
We have recently received an update from the Rotary Club of Chiangmai with which our Club partnered with to help improve the capacity of Warm Hearts Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Clinic at Nong Pa Khrang Municipality which responds to the needs of growing aging population in the community.
The Rotary Club of Chiangmai has finished the medical equipment handover and training since January and is now preparing the final report to be sent to The Rotary Foundation by March. Ultimately it was reported that the project did indeed help improve the capacity of local health care, promote disease prevention and treatment program.
Below are just a few pictures of many showing the Clinic in action.
All Rotarians are welcome to attend Rotary Board of Directors Meetings via Zoom Meeting on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, from noon to 1 PM. It’s a good way to complete Blue Badge requirements or make up a missed meeting.
Our next meetings will be on Monday, March 15th and Monday, April 5th. Please let us know if you would like to attend and we will provide you the Zoom link for the meeting.
Sometimes we just have to miss a meeting. If you are working on perfect attendance or just want to get your Rotary fix each week, there is one location on the web that can help you. Access https://www.rotaryeclubone.org/ and participate in readings, videos, etc. Once complete you can submit a “request a makeup” verification and email it directly to our club Secretary for recording.
