Recently, the Walla Walla Noon Rotary Youth committee provided a $300.00 grant to “The Karate Center Youth Foundation.” The grant is in support of the karate centers AAU team. The center uses the art of karate to build leadership skills, teach sportsmanship, and develop communication skills in students. Many children benefit from the training especially children from high risk social back grounds and children with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder and learning disabilities. The training builds confidence and self- esteem. The grant will help fund AAU membership fees.

Their organization benefits the youth of Walla Walla by supporting the karate center team. The karate center has about 100 kids. Recently it was decided to have all the kids become AAU individual members. This would ensure each participant has insurance for the sport.

Karate will for the first time be an Olympic event. Our kids are excited about this and eager to participate. They hope to have kids competing in nationals this year.
