Rotarian Larry Hoof, (right) presented Paul Harris recognition at our March 2, noon meeting:
"In the past, I have talked about the connection that exists between personal happiness and the contributions a person makes. Today, I get to reinforce that connection with a Paul Harris Fellow award to one of our members.

Sometimes it takes a while to summon the money for the first $1,000 donation to the Rotary Foundation, which as you know is currently celebrating 100 Years of Doing Good in the World. But, it can be done in smaller increments over time and with some commitment to the important work done here and by extension around the world.

Here is a statement of her guiding philosophy about life and happiness. I quote: I truly believe that I can never GIVE more than I RECEIVE. And even though it's taken me several years to achieve a Paul Harris, I can't tell you how good it feels!!

Today’s recipient was sponsored by Jan Corn and has been an active member of our club since the fall of 2008 when joining the Banner Committee. Perhaps you have encountered her scanning your badge before greeting you at the door or when taking your money as a cashier.
She is happily married to her husband John and they oversee a homestead along the Walla Walla River with 4 Chinese Pugs, 2 cats and 4 hens.

You might also know her as the Executive Director of the Sweet Onion Festival and that she has declared the upcoming event in June as her final one after managing 16 previous street fairs that celebrate the Official Washington State Vegetable.
Please acknowledge one of the happiest people you will ever know: Kathy Fry-Trommald!"
