Representative Maureen Walsh (left) accepted the 2016 Crayon Award from the Washington State Early Learning Action Alliance at our November 3, noon meeting.

Every other year, the Action Alliance recognizes Washington State legislators who have shown exceptional leadership in advancing the causes of young children and families. Maureen is being recognized this year for both her career-long commitment to early learning (as a member and leader of the House Early Learning and Human Services Committee), and her specific work in the 2014-2015 legislative session, championing the passage of the historic, Early Start Act which is helping to provide critically needed, high-quality early care and education opportunities to thousands of Washington families.

Congratulations Maureen!
