I am honored and humbled to serve as President of the Rotary Club of Richland for the 2018-2019 Rotary Year.  This year the Club celebrates its 69th anniversary. The ongoing legacy of community involvement and demonstration of Service Above Self continues today.

My goals for this year are similar to last year’s, because they’re based on discussions and input from the club, and the continuity that extends beyond one Rotary year or term of office.  The first area of focus is to have vibrant fellowship and informative programs at our weekly club meetings.  Additional areas of focus include:

  • Increase club membership - The committee structure has been changed to add focus on recruitment, membership development and retention.Engage with our Community through partnerships with the City of Richland, Richland School District, Rebuilding Mid-Columbia, and others.
  • Continue our strong support of education through the award of academic and nursing scholarships
  • Increase humanitarian service through international grants where we can leverage our contributions with those of other local Rotary Clubs to make significant and lasting impact
  • Enhance our public image and community awareness
This year’s theme for Rotary International is “Be the Inspiration”.  As we join together and share our experiences, talents, energy and resources, we will inspire one another (and others in the community) to do things that will be relevant and build on the legacy of Richland Rotary - and we’ll have FUN doing it!

Yours in Rotary Service,

Bob Tibbatts, President
