November is the month of Thanksgiving. I want each of you to know of my love for Rotary when I first came to our club. I immediately felt the warm spirit of our club. I enjoy the people who have come together to make a difference. I was blessed for a short time to have Violet Rohrer, our Ass't Governor at the time who later passed. She was a mentor and I witnessed her love for Rotary. When I see the big differences some of our small contributions can make in someone's life it warms my heart. I am so thankful for all of you and for all the things that you do.

Committee Update

The previous committees are being reorganized and now become three committees instead of five. Club Administration & Foundation; Service Projects; and Membership & Public Relations are the new committees. These groups work closely together so we hope this arrangement will be more successful. All members are expected to serve on at least one committee. The following members have signed up for these committees. If you haven't signed up yet, please email or let Cindy or Alex know your choice. Thank you.

NOVEMBER IS ROTARY FOUNDATION MONTH!

The District 6290 Foundation Gala is Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Park Place Hotel and Conference Center and begins at 6pm. Tickets are $100 per person. Key Note Speaker is Michael K. McGovern Chairman of the International PolioPlus Committee. All proceeds go to the Rotary Foundation. Register on the District Website. RSVP at RIDISTRICT6290.org.

“The mission of the Rotary Foundation is to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty.” Levels of Giving are as follows:

Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) – Each member of a club donates a minimum of $25 with a per capital of $100 each Rotary Year to the Annual Fund (The Comstock Park Rotary Club has achieved this! It is included in your dues.)

Sustaining Member – Member donates $100+ a year to the Annual Fund

Benefactor—Donates $1,000+ to the fund or incudes the Endowment Fund in their estate as a beneficiary

Paul Harris Fellow—Donates a minimum of $1000 to the Annual Fund, Polio Plus,

Disaster Response or another approved foundation grant.

Bequest Society--$10,000+ bequeath through estate/will

Major Donor—Personal donations reach $10,000

Arch C. Klumph Society—Personal donations reach $250,000

SAYING "GOODBYE" TO QUYNH

We express our thanks and good wishes to Quynh Vu who said goodbye to us last week. She has been a member since October of 2014. We appreciate her dedication to the success of our club. She along with Glenn Miller, developed the Manual of Operations for the Barbeque's. This helped us be more consistent and efficient. This can also be shared with new members so they understand the different jobs that must be accomplished.

Quynh is moving to Florida and was recently married. Thank you, Quynh. You will be missed. Please let us know your new email.

Upcoming Elections

Please note that in December we will be electing a Board-Elect for 2020

2021(July-June). Five people serve on the Board of Directors each year.

The Secretary and Treasurer are currently appointed. A Nominations committee will be announced shortly.
