The magic of the holiday season fills the air—a time of joy, reflection, and giving. As Rotarians, we are reminded that the spirit of the season is best expressed through acts of service that bring warmth and hope to those around us.

A shout out to all who supported the Families Helping Families winter clothing drive. Thanks to the generosity of our community, gently used winter clothing was collected and over $3,250 was raised to provide new coats, gloves, scarves, boots and other essentials to ensure local families can face the cold with comfort and dignity. Nearly 40 families, representing 115 children and adults were provided gifts of warmth and care.

We can also be proud of our Adopt-A-Family program, which helps spread holiday cheer to a family in the Comstock Park and Kenowa Hills communities. By providing gifts, food, and other essentials, our club ensures that these families can experience the joy and magic of the season. It’s a deeply rewarding opportunity to bring light and hope to our neighbors during this special time of year.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to see the unveiling of the StoryWalk in Dwight Lydell Park. This initiative blends literacy, outdoor activity, and family fun, offering a unique way to enjoy stories while strolling through the park. By funding this project, we continue our commitment to education and community enrichment, one story at a time.

Another cherished tradition is ringing the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. Our members, bundled up and smiling, will be greeting shoppers on December 12th as we raise funds to help those in need. It's a simple yet powerful way to remind others that the true spirit of Christmas lies in kindness and generosity.

As Rotarians, we are proud to embody the motto Service Above Self year-round, but the holiday season brings a special sense of purpose to our efforts. May your holidays be merry, bright, and filled with the satisfaction of giving back.
