The Holidays once again are quickly approaching! It is a time that many of us enthusiastically welcome and enjoy with family and friends. Just remember that some are not as fortunate. Think about those who are alone and might not have a Thanksgiving dinner to look forward to. Could you donate a turkey or a meal, volunteer in a kitchen, bake an extra pie for a neighbor or consider setting an extra plate at your table?
Some fun facts:
Did you know that most Americans believe that their Thanksgiving was modeled after the 1621 harvest first shared by Pilgrims and the Wampaoag people?
Did you know that President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation designating the 3rd Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day?
Did you know that the First Thanksgiving to boast the annual Macy's Day parade in New York City was in 1924?
Did you know that both the United States and Canada celebrate Thanksgiving?
Did you know that the rivalry between Yale and Princeton began the tradition of a Thanksgiving Day football game?
I am thankful for my Rotary Family. May God's Blessings continue to be bestowed upon you and may you be a blessing to others.

Board of Directors and Guests Meet With District Governor, Paul Heroman
and Assistant Governor Jim White
District Governor Paul Heroman, from Ada, had an enthusiastic message for our club. He stressed that we should "make sure you tell the story" of Rotary and what you are doing. We are eligible to apply for a grant this year because of our contributions to the Foundation. We have applied for a grant in the amount of $2,500 for the Mary Free Bed project assisting people with feeding issues.
