Bulletin Template (Oct 03, 2021)

Happy fall greetings to everyone. Now is the perfect time to go and visit all the local farm markets. There are no less than a dozen markets that sell fruits and vegetables at great value all up and down the “Ridge.” You can also find other fun things like cider, donuts, corn mazes, and entertainment for the entire family. Pick your own fruit or find it already picked is available at some markets. Check out the Fruit Ridge Country Market Guide online or in the markets for information.

Cooler weather will bring a season of club activities that we can all partake in. We are planning to “Ring the Bells” for the Salvation Army, organize and deliver for Santa Claus Girls, read to area children, and maybe sponsor a family or so for a Thanksgiving dinner.We have always committed to being a big part of ”Hand to Hand”, which provides food over the weekend to many area school children. I will be checking on the status of that program at Comstock Park schools. We had also talked about expanding and assisting a similar program at Alpine Elementary, Kenowa Hills School District. These few things impact so many, but the end results are beyond words.

This coming month we will be meeting on Thursday, October 7th and October 21st. On both dates we have speakers that are inspirational. I hope everyone can make it to both.We are going to be busy, so stay refreshed, bring a couple extra dollars for the 50/50, as we are about half way into the deck of cards. Also we have not had any fines in a while, so Kent will have to pass the bat.

Keep Sharon in your thoughts and prayers, she is recovering from knee surgery. Most important, please pray for Brent Beuschel, who had head injuries in a tractor/car accident. He is currently in an induced coma to heal his brain. Pray also for him and his beautiful family. By the time you read this, we hope he is doing much better.

Upcoming Meetings

The next Rotary meeting is this Thursday, October 7th 12:10 PM at the Swan Inn. Our guest speaker will be Joel Bierling, proprietor of Bier Distillery, right here in Comstock Park. He is someone pursuing his dreams.

The following meeting on Thursday, October 21 will also have an interesting speaker. Donna Tashjian of Vibrant Living will speak about Overcoming Adversity. Donna is a Life Mastery Coach, Inspirational Speaker, and an Ordained Minister.

New Member Orientation

Last Thursday the Comstock Park Rotary conducted a new and prospective embers orientation. Present were new members Debbie Benjamin and Elizabeth Wahlfield. Also in attendance to learn more about Rotary were Jerry Berg, Andrew Bok, Michelle Cooper, and Dawn Swafford. The orientation was presented by Alex Arends and Gerry Hopkins.
