June, 2022 (May 25, 2022)

Dear Rotarians,

This 2022 year is just flying by. We are within a few days of our first of two BBQ’s for the summer. All the pieces are falling in place. The price for the dinners went up slightly, but not as much as they have if you went to eat at a restaurant. Alex has put together a fantastic video once again to announce the BBQ. Well done Alex. It is on our Facebook and he has sent it out to local community websites.

We had to cancel our last meeting because it would have been a nightmare getting in and out of the Swan. It will not be much better for our June 2nd meeting so we have an alternate meeting site. We will have our meeting at the Dwight Lydell Park gazebo at noon. Our thoughts are to send you a menu from Maddog’s Hotdogs across the street. You send in your pre-order, bring your own drink and we will take in the order that morning so the dogs are ready for your consumption.

If it is raining our back up plan is to all meet at Mill Creek Tavern indoors for our lunch and meeting. In that event, we will order from the menu. Thanks for being flexible. Get ready for the BBQ. Ukraine Bracelets

Ukraine bracelets are still available through Diane Van Epps. They are no longer available at the Choice One bank branches. The initial funds raised ($4,361.00) through our club have been sent to the RI Foundation specifically for humanitarian aid in Ukraine. The approximately 1,000 we have left will be offered for sale at the bar-be-ques. The remaining funds raised will go to the RI Foundation for support of natural disasters which they must always be ready for.

We extend our thanks for this project to Diane Van Epps, Choice One Banks, and all of our members who bought and/or sold the bracelets. This was a project on a fast track and required much collaboration.
