As we approach the halfway mark of my first year as club president, I want to take the time to thank you for your passion, ideas, and support for one another. As we recently learned of the closing of one of our neighboring clubs and another area club's membership substantially dropping, I want to thank you all for not only showing up for every meeting, but for putting the work in to make our club and our community better!!!

We will finish the year off helping raise money for the Salvation Army by ringing the bell and delivering Christmas gifts for Santa Claus Girls in Comstock Park. I hope you know that you are making a difference! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope you are able to enjoy this special time of year with your family and friends. We will be meeting at the Mill Creek Tavern on West River Drive on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Please park at the Post Office across the street if you are able. The Board meeting will begin at 11 am followed by the Member meeting at 12:10 am. Please sign up for your lunch when you arrive.

Chris Etienne will serve as 2024-2026 Rotary International Director representing our paired Zones (28 & 32).

Chris will serve on the Board of Directors beginning in 2024.

Chris Etienne is an excellent speaker and spoke to Comstock Park Rotary before Covid. She is is passionate about the work of The Rotary Foundation and has participated in National Immunization Days (NID) for polio eradication in India and Nigeria. She is a recipient of The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service and most recently The Rotary Foundation Distinguished Service Award. Chris and her husband, Dennis Lindeman, are Major Donors and members of the Bequest Society. She and Dennis reside in Petoskey, Michigan.

MEETING DETAILS:

Our December 1 speaker is Team Leader Christina Pittman from Days for Girls, Rockford South MI Team. They provide Washable Sanitary Kits for Girls in Ukraine and other countries. Deb Benjamin is our program chair for December and she has used her sewing skills with this group for four years.

Bell Ringing, Dec. 8 is from 10 am to 7 pm. We like to have 2 people on duty at the North Entrance of Walmart if possible.

Santa Claus Delivery on Dec. 10. There should be at least two people in a delivery car. Please use the West Entrance of the Alpine Township Hall at 9 a.m.
