As Rotarians, we are united by service and fellowship—but each of us carries a personal reason, a unique “why,” that brought us here and keeps us engaged. In the busy pace of life, it’s easy to move from one meeting or service project to the next without pausing to reconnect with that original purpose.
This month, we invite you to reflect: Why did you choose Rotary? Why do you stay? Your answers are important—not just for yourself, but for inspiring others who are seeking meaningful ways to serve.
To help activate your thinking, consider these questions:
What moment first made you feel you truly belonged in Rotary?
How have you personally grown because of your Rotary membership?
Which service project or Rotary event has been most meaningful to you?
How do Rotary’s values align with your personal or professional values?
What impact do you hope to have through Rotary, in your community or beyond?
By revisiting your “why,” you’ll not only rekindle your passion but also find it easier to share Rotary’s story with prospective members. Your personal experience can be one of the most powerful tools for growing our club and strengthening our shared mission.
We encourage you to spend a few minutes this week reflecting on your Rotary journey. Better yet, share your “why” with a fellow Rotarian—you may find new inspiration in hearing theirs too.
Together, our individual “whys” create a powerful, collective force for good. Let’s celebrate that, and continue building a Rotary Club that is welcoming, vibrant, and purposeful.
