As we turn the calendar to January, we’re given a rare and powerful gift: a fresh start. A new year invites reflection on where we’ve been, gratitude for the work we’ve done together, and renewed energy for what lies ahead. For Rotary, January also marks Vocational Service Month, which is a fitting theme as we recommit ourselves to service through our professions, talents, and daily work. Vocational Service is at the heart of who we are as Rotarians. It reminds us that “service above self” doesn’t begin and end with projects or meetings; it shows up in how we conduct our businesses, support our colleagues, mentor young people, and use our skills to strengthen our community. Each of us brings something unique to the table, and Rotary gives those talents a purpose beyond ourselves. As we enter a new year, it’s worth pausing to consider how our vocations can be vehicles for good. How can we lift others up through what we know and do best? How can we model integrity, fairness, and excellence in our workplaces? And, how can we, as a club, continue to create opportunities that connect meaningful service with real world skills? January is also a time for personal goal setting and renewed momentum. Whether it’s committing to attend more meetings, inviting a prospective member, volunteering for a committee, or simply leaning in with fresh enthusiasm, small steps taken now can have a lasting impact throughout the year. Rotary’s strength has always come from members who show up consistently, thoughtfully, and with a shared purpose. As we look ahead, I’m excited about what this year holds for our club. Together, we have the ability to make a difference not only through our service projects, but through the example we set as professionals and community leaders. Let’s make 2026 a year defined by connection, collaboration, and service that truly matters. Thank you for all you do for Rotary, for our community, and for one another.
